Fairport Public Library and SCORE announce Small Business/Entrepreneur Workshop Series as part of assistance to Fairport/Perinton Small Businesses

SCORE (Counselors to America's Small Business) announced today that it will be offering four workshops for existing and prospective business owners in Fairport/Perinton and surrounding towns to teach proven strategies and tools for getting growth stimulated in a slow economy. The workshops are made possible through the cooperation of the Fairport Public Library who, said Margaret Pilaroscia, "uses its facilities and resources to collaborate in educational opportunities to help stimulate the local economy."

"This workshop series will be an intensive, practical, hands-on business course designed to provide entrepreneurs with the skills they need to successfully manage and grow a business," said Bill Brennan, SCORE counselor and president of Leads Source, Inc., who will facilitate the series.

Four (4) two-hour workshops will be offered to participants, covering a variety of topics critical to small business startup and survival:

• How to create a Business Plan for Startups and New Firms (September 16, 2004)
  
• What's the right legal structure for your business (September 23, 2004)
  
• Prioritizing the Key Financial Considerations (September 23, 2004)
  
• Success through Marketing (September 30, 2004)
  
• NO WORKSHOP OCTOBER 7
  
• How do I get a Business Loan (October 14, 2004)
  
• What type of business insurance do I need (October 14, 2004)

Workshop sessions will be held Thursday evenings starting September 16 in the Elma Gaffney Meeting Room of the Fairport Library from 6:45 p.m. to 8:45 p.m.
There is a $45 fee for the complete series of four two-hour sessions. Reservations are required. They may be made by calling the Fairport Public Library, or emailing mpilaros@mcls.rochester.lib.ny.us
